Abstract Non-uniformities in the heat flow through support pillars vacuum insulating glass (VIG) can lead to significant errors measurement of thermal properties these devices. This paper discusses instruments for which area is direct contact with sheets. The spatial non-uniformities different VIG designs are modelled using finite element method.
